VOLUME 5 (2010)

HEALTH AND SAFETY IN ARCHAEOLOGY

The main section of Praxis Archaeologica's next issue will be devoted to Health and Safety in Archaeology.

We think this is a central concern for all archaeologists, although is often ignored due to a lack of perception of the risks that can arise with every archaeological work.

In order to revert this situation, the Portuguese Professional Association of Archaeologists held a symposium where archaeologists and health and safety professionals joined together to debate this issue and suggest the first clues in the path we need to walk to further develop this subject. The publication of some of the lectures is a way to broaden the debate to those who could not be present.

In addition to the contributions to the main section, we ask all archaeologists to collaborate with papers that respect the journal guidelines, as stated in the Notes to Contributors.
